A Note from the Director

"Spansk, Suomea, supeingo, heng-ja, spagnolo, espagnol, spanska, spanisch, spaans, espanhol, español, these are the many ways in which the language most spoken as a first language in the western hemisphere is called worldwide."
Dear Students,
Universal de Idiomas is one of the finest institutions in Costa Rica where you can learn Spanish, experience the culture and make life-long friends. You are sure to have an unforgettable experience while attending Universal de Idiomas. This is one reason why previous students have enjoyed our programs so much. Our homestay program is one of the best around because of our administration's expertise in matching the right student to the right family. Many have expressed their gratitude for such an unforgettable experience with their families because the main part of learning the culture is living with host families.
At our institution, students get the most out of their classes, no matter what their level is. Placement exams are given at the beginning of each session to assist us in placing students in the appropriate class so that time is well spent on learning. Our institution also helps coordinate trips so that you can travel outside of San José and enjoy the beaches, rain forests, wildlife and cultural aspects of Costa Rica.
The fact that our groups are small and our teachers are culturally well-prepared allows Universal’s Spanish group courses to be suitable for people from all walks of life, such as: medical personnel-nurses, doctors, missionaries, Spanish teachers, military officers, flight attendants, university students, professors, airline personnel, businessmen, paralegal personnel and lawyers. A good command of Spanish plays an important role in these daily routines. Our school is well equipped with books and audiovisual material to help our teachers tailor lessons according to the specific needs of each student.
At Universal de Idiomas we care about our student' wishes and needs. We want our students to have an enjoyable and memorable time in Costa Rica and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Vilma de Castro
Director
