Learn Spanish As A Second Language
General objective
To facilitate the student in the least possible time and from beginning the main structural and practical tools for the acquisition and development of skills that throughout the program to the end will allow the student a fluent command of the language in a comfortable learning and speaking setting.
Low Beginner Level (I)
After successfully completing this level, the students will be able:
1. To demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the basic structures:
- Pronunciation
- Ser and estar
- Gender and number
- The verb tener
- Indefinite articles
- Tener que
- Verbs of the first conjugation –ar ending verbs.
- Possessive adjectives
- The definite articles
- Irregular verbs
- The verb ser
- Demonstratives
- Verbs of the third conjugation –ir ending verbs.
- Adverbs of place
- Possessive forms
2. To respond to simple statements/ questions within the limits of vocabulary and structures presented.
3. To recognize the sound / symbol correspondence.
4. To complete blank spaces with missing words.
5. To do brief descriptions.
High Beginner Level ( II )
After successfully completing this level, the student will be able:
1. To demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the basic structures:
-Verb gustar
- Numbers
-Verbs pedir and preguntar
- Simple Past Tense: reg/ireg verbs
-Verbs conocer and saber
- TODO vrs. CADA
-Dónde? Vrs. Adónde?
- AL and DEL
-Reflexive verbs
- Formation of adverbs
-Possessive pronouns
- IR a + infinitive
Simple Future Tense
2. To respond to familiar situations that deal with general topics: clothing, noun directions, school life, activities/ people, personal data: name/age, family relationships, food: likes/ dislikes, house; rooms/furnishings, state of being, expressions of time, sizes and geometric shapes.
3. To respond to simple statements/ questions within the limits of vocabulary and structures presented.
4. To recognize the sound / symbol correspondence.
5. To write sentences and short paragraphs.
Low Intermediate Level ( I )
After successfully completing this level, the student will be able:
1. To demonstrate sufficient knowledge of grammar structures:

- Comparative and superlative forms

High Intermediate Level ( I I )
After successfully completing this level the student will be able:
