Get ready for Fashion Week!
"Fashion Week: San Jose becomes one of the major fashion capitals".
This week, the fashion world will focus on San Jose, Costa Rica.
Designs, creations, patterns and couture will be the keynote of the second edition of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, which will take place from Thursday May 8 to Saturday May 10. The model Leonora Jiménez organizes the event.
Some of the great guests that will be present during the fashion week are Michelle de Matheu, Fabrizio Berrocakl, Diego Alvarez, Daniel Moreira, Alvaro Nunez and Ana Gutierrez, all representing Costa Rica.
Opening
The Fashion Week will be opened by a parade in bathing suits, accompanied with music by the Colombian brand Agua Bendita.
Among the renowned ticos models, the catwalk will include the participation of Catherine Freer, Ekaterina S. Skilar and Eduardo Esquivel; the latter has extensive international experience.
Pop-up Store
Compared to last year, the set-up has changed slightly. A new variety is the Pop- up Store, a space in which the public will have the opportunity to buy some of the clothes that will be presented at Fashion Week. The store will be opened the three days of the event and offers clothes from both national and international designers.
Another surprise to the San Jose Fashion Week is the participation of the universities Creativa y Veritas, Costa Rican institutions that are focused on design. They will show their collection in a big parade that will take place on Saturday from 4 p.m. on.

Each night after the parades there will be a reception with electronic music, where attendees can meet the designers and models which participated in the event. These after parties will be hosted in the hotel the Real Intercontinental.
